Step 1:
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2003
- From the Tools menu select E-mail Accounts
Step 2:
- A new window will open called E-mail Accounts wizard
- Select Add a new e-mail account
- Click Next
Step 3:
- Select POP3
- Click Next
Step 4:
- Your Name: Full name to be displayed to recipients when mails are send from this new account
- E-mail Address: Full Email address for this new account
- Username: Full Email address for this new account
- Password: New account’s Email password
- Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.domainname.com*
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.domainname.com*
OR your ISP’s SMTP server
* replace domainname.com with this new Email account’s domain name
- Click More Settings
Step 5:
- On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select General tab.
- Mail Account: Enter your email address
- Continue to Step 6
Step 6:
- On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select Outgoing Server tab
- For those using Action SMTP server, check: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- For those using a non Action SMTP such as their ISP, check: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Log on using
You must then enter the username and password provided to you by your ISP or a 3rd party
- Continue to Step 7
Step 7:
- Select Advanced tab
- Ensure POP3 is set to 110 and SMTP to 3535
- Set Server Timeouts to 3 minutes
- Click OK
Step 8:
- Click Test Account Setting…
Step 9:
- If all settings are correct you will see green check mark beside all fields. If you are prompted with an error you should re-check all settings described in that error message
- Click Close
Step 10:
- If all settings are correct
- Click Next
Step 11:
Click Finish to complete setup of new account
