How to set up Email on Microsoft Outlook 2016 (POP3)

Step 1:

  • Open Microsoft Outlook 2016
  • Click File > Add Account

Step 2:

  • Select  Manually setup or additional server types
  • Click Next

Step 3:

  • Select POP or IMAP
  • Click Next

Step 4:

On the POP and IMAP Account Settings page, enter your information as follows

  • Your Name: Your first and last name as it will appear to recipients
  • E-mail Address: Your email address
  • Account Type: POP3
  • Incoming mail server: mail.domain.com
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.domain.com
  • User Name: Your email address
  • Password: Your email account password
  • Click More Settings

Step 5:

  • Navigate to the Outgoing Server tab
  • Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
  • Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server

Step 6:

  • Navigate to the Advanced tab
  • Incoming server (POP3): 110
  • Outgoing server (SMTP): 3535
  • Server Timeouts: 3 minutes
  • Click OK

Step 7:

  • Click Test Account Setting…
  • Click Close

If the test fails, please ensure there were no mistakes in previous steps and test again.

  • You're all set!
  • Click Finish
